Volunteers are needed to provide social, recreational and educational assistance for programs located at the Day Centre, 1600 Steeles Avenue West (just west of Dufferin Street). The Day Centre is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 pm. A two-hour commitment is required, either in the morning or the afternoon. Programs are designed for seniors with Alzhiemer's Disease, dementia and age related cognitive impairment.
Background: The value of our volunteer program is immeasurable when it comes down to how volunteers make a difference in the lives of our elders. As one of our volunteer noted, the rewards both clients and volunteers receive from the mutual experience is "one of the greatest learning journeys of my life."
