Remarks Volunteers are needed to provide support to a client and/or family member at the end of life. Hospice volunteers are a special group of 'professional volunteers' offering vital services including companionship, emotional support and practical assistance to our clients and short-term relief to client families and caregivers. Hospice volunteers receive special training (including a 30 hours training commitment) and commit to 2 to 4 hours per week of volunteering. Training is free and offered twice a year, September/October and January/February.

Background: The value of our volunteer program is immeasurable when it comes down to how volunteers make a difference in the lives of those we assist. As one of our volunteer noted, the rewards both clients and volunteers receive from the mutual experience is "one of the greatest learning journeys of my life."
