If you live north of Sheppard & Bathurst and have one-hour a week to spare, you can make a huge difference to a lonely senior seeking companionship, by visiting him or her in their own home! Clients and volunteers are matched based on similar interests and location is prioritized based on your requirements. Languages such as Hebrew, Yiddish, Russian and Hungarian are helpful.
Background: The value of our volunteer program is immeasurable when it comes down to how volunteers make a difference in the lives of our elders. As one of our volunteer noted, the rewards both clients and volunteers receive from the mutual experience is "one of the greatest learning journeys of my life." At Circle of Care, our volunteers help our clients live healthier, happier, longer lives in their own homes.
