New name, new date, new place! After 34 successful years, Toronto’s much loved Jewish Book Fair is reborn as the Toronto Jewish Book Festival, a celebration of Jewish books and authors.
This year's Festival, June 4 – 7, 2012, will be the biggest Jewish literary event in Canada, culminating in the 24th Annual Helen and Stan Vine Canadian Jewish Book Awards ceremony at 8 pm on June 7th. The awards ceremony, celebrating excellence in Canadian writing on Jewish themes and subjects in a variety of genres, is free and open to the public.
The 2012 Toronto Jewish Book Festival schedule features author talks, readings, panels, exclusive book launches, musical events, films and slideshows, student programs, hundreds of books for sale and more. All events will take place at the Bram and Bluma Appel Salon at the Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street (at Bloor), Toronto.
