The Israeli Artists Group of Toronto is a non-profit organization of visual artists who live in the Greater Toronto Area, each of whom has lived in Israel at various times in their lives. Organized in 1992, the group provides an artistic and social environment for its members. The artists meet monthly and usually enjoy a lecture by a guest artist. Over the years, the Israeli Artists Group has organized workshops, exhibitions and gallery visits.
IAG artists come from various educational backgrounds in Israel, Russia, Canada, and South Africa. They use various media for their two and three dimensional designs – oil, acrylic, and watercolour paintings, photography, calligraphy, sculpture, ceramic art, jewelry, and fabric art. The IAG members' diverse backgrounds, media and styles result in a refreshing enrichment to the Jewish and Canadian art scene
2012 marks the 4th anniversary of the Israeli Artists Group Show. This year's show and sale, designed to celebrate Jerusalem Day, features work by 23 IAG members, and includes paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculptures and jewelry.
The work will be displayed in the charming, historic J.E.H. Thoreau MacDonald House in Thornhill (121 Centre Street, access from the parking lot on Brooke St.)
