Mekorot is an institute of Jewish learning for the women of the Greater Toronto Area. 

In an atmosphere of spiritual and intellectual growth, Mekorot provides the tools for intensive inclusive study, a steady development of knowledge and a strengthened respect for, and understanding of, Torah text and values. 

Mekorot's goal is to make the broad range of traditional Jewish texts accessible to its students.  Whether you are just embarking on your study of the Torah or have many years of experience, you will enjoy our interactive style of learning. Our instructors are exceptional in their fields and will respect your individual learning needs, with programming offered in the daytime as well as evenings.

The Mekorot Fall 2010 program of year-long courses will be offered through two main locations - Or Chaim Yeshiva and Shaarei Shomayim Congregation -  with mini courses also offered at the Prosserman Jewish Community Centre. 

We have also introduced a new Sunday morning learning group for girls in grades 7 and 8 - Bat Mitzvah and Beyond Learning:  The Book of Esther.  Girls are invited to join their friends and unlock the treasure that is Torah learning. Discover a true Jewish heroine, Esther, who was more than just a pretty face. Together with their friends, girls will delve into the text of Megillat Esther with commentators and midrash and form the unique bounds forged through Torah study.
