Y2KIDS
A Community Drama Program for Youth
2004-04-15 14:05:42

If you are between 6-13 years of age, you can be a STAR in Y2KIDS, a program offered by Beth Tikvah Synagogue's Youth CommitteeNo Experience Necessary - Y2KIDS will provide it.

Under the direction of Lawrence Axmith, children will shine as featured players in Y2KIDS in a production featuring stories and songs for the new millenium.  This initiative is open to all children, both members and non-members of Beth Tikvah and is committed to giving budding thespians a place to 'get hooked' on drama.

Y2KIDS promises a variety of speaking roles and of singing roles, and everyone gets a part.   In the process of rehearsing the show, children will learn the fundamentals of acting and musical theatre, all in a structured, low-stress, high-fun atmosphere.

Once the rehearsals are over, the sets are painted and the costumes are ready, it's time for the Big Show!  Performances of Y2KIDS are scheduled for Wednesday, June 9,  and Sunday, June 13.

"When kids have fun onstage, the audience has fun watching.  Harnessing that spirit into a polished production results in a beyond-expectation experience," Axmith says.

 Auditions will take place:

  • Sunday, April 18 from 1:00-4:00 pm
  • Monday, April 19 from 4:00-7:00 pm
  • Tuesday, April 20 from 4:00-7:00 pm

Contact the Beth Tikvah Synagogue Youthline at (416) 221-3433 extension 351 to book an audition or for more information.
