Jewish Information Service of Greater Toronto (JIST) has been a vital service of UJA FEDERATION of Greater Toronto since 1975.
We reach out to individuals and community organizations and serve as a point of access to Jewish community life in our area. We respond to over 14,000 inquiries each year by phone, email, fax or visitors to our office. And this website has over 4 million requests for pages annually:

Community Calendar
JIST maintains the Community Calendar or What's On listing meetings, events and lectures throughout in the Greater Toronto Area. To add your synagogue, organization or agency event, email jinfo@ujafed.org or call 416-635-5600 and speak to Fran.
Housing Registry
From its beginning, Jewish Information Service has maintained a Housing Registry, a listing of housing. It concentrates on shared accommodations, basement apartments and rooms in houses or apartments. To list your rental accommodation call our office or email us. To find out what is available, call or visit our office.
Welcome to Our World
Have you had a baby recently or do you know someone who recently has had a baby?
We welcome newborns into the Jewish community. UJA FEDERATION sends each new baby a package:
- A personalized "Certificate of Welcome"
- A colourful magnet picture frame for this new Shana Punim
- A copy of "Help…We've Got Kids," courtesy of the publisher
