Rinat Dodim
Designed for people “on the way in,” returning Jews, b’nei mitzvah families and learners of all stripes; for experienced daveners as well as rabbis and teachers; for guests from less traditional backgrounds and non-Jewish visitors. Rinat Dodim follows the pagination of the Beth Tzedec’s shabbat morning siddur (Silverman), and features two commentaries: a running explanation with what, why, how, etc., and a commentary on specific words and phrases. Written in clear language, both commentaries provide gender-inclusive ways of relating to a traditional text that is not always translated with gender consciousness. Both also offer an inclusive approach, conscious of historical development and illustrating the multifaceted levels of meaning, custom and practice within the traditional text.
